Vance experienced his very first flight this past week as we flew down to Texas to visit Grandma and Grandpa Matthews. Vance is a great baby, but we were a little curious how he would do on a plane. He is so active these days and we thought being confined to one seat for 3 hours might be a little hard for him. We planned the trip perfectly, so we thought...we got a flight out at 7:30am so Vance could have his first bottle as we were ascending. Well, there was a dense fog that morning and the plane was delayed for 2 hours. They already had us all board before the delay was announced, so we had to sit at the gate for 2 hours. While we waited, Vance played with the seat trays, armrests (his favorite) and the passengers around us. We decided to get a little video of him as we waited. Sorry the video is so dark, it gets lighter. Well, the flight finally took off and the 3 hour flight went great. Vance surprised us and did not sleep hardly at all. He kept himself busy by 'talking' to our flight attendant, playing with the armrest, and looking at the 'Skymall' pamphlet with his daddy. It was a memorable experience.

Grandma and Grandpa surprised us and met us at baggage claim! Vance was so excited to see them! Notice the baggage claim tag on Vance's foot...daddy thought it was so funny to say Vance was checked and put onto the plane...so cute.
When we got home to grandma and grandpa's, we got Vance comfortable in just a onesie and he was able to love on grandma and grandpa.

Grandpa used to hold Vance like this when he was only 4 weeks old... Vance still loves it!
Grandpa carried Vance all around the house like this all week...Vance just loved it! He giggles so much, it is amazing.
Bath time was so fun. The rubber ducky in Chad's hand was what mom and dad had for him when Chad was a baby....now it is for their grandson, the Vance man (grandpa calls him that).
Vance got to meet his Great Uncle Dave for the first time. He just loved him!
Vance also got to meet his Great Aunt Lynn for the first time, how fun!
Here is daddy and Vance lounging on the deck before Vance's afternoon nap. We spent a lot of time on the deck. It was so peaceful being tucked back into the woods.

Mommy and Vance spent a lot of time reading on the deck. Mommy and Daddy had the entire week off from school...it is not going to be easy to get back into it next week. There is nothing better than relaxing with our baby boy.
We went over to Vance's great aunt and uncle's house and Vance had fun petting their puppy.
